Decide which Imperial town you want. Join as a vassal to the closest non-Imperial faction to that town. Gain some influence with battles and missions. Wait til they're at war with the Imperial faction that holds the town you desire. Once at war, spend all your influence on building an army to take the town.
Right off the bat, the ruling clan earning 3 influence per day is an absolute must for any newly-created kingdom. It’s one of the best policies if you’re hell-bent on creating your own kingdom from scratch, but only in the beginning stages. Firmly avoid this policy if you’re a vassal. Sacred Majesty Policy in Bannerlord. Join friendly army groups that are starving, get a ton of food and keep following, you'll get constant +1 influence while together with said army. Vote for policies in your kingdom that give you influence bonusses. (if they work) Keep fighting lords for at least 5ish influence at the time. Join a kingdom. Participate in a war with an enemy that does not directly border your kingdom (e.g. if you are in Vlandia, you need a war with Sturgia). Take a castle that is strategically placed to be near a third kingdom (e.g. Kranirog or Mazhadan) and get the king to give it to you. It's best if the castle is Level 3. If you're set on being independent and forging your own kingdom the hard way, I'd suggest a very strong party of at least 200 men, and a decent roster of companion parties before attempting it. You can probably score a city and a castle before then, but keeping them will be the issue. #13. Best is to build a stormram and then attack. If you wait to long, an ennemy army can show up.
